The following Employee Perks (EP) will be available upon completion of the following:

Designated recipients of either EP Guest or EP guest season passes must complete the Season Pass Agreement form and employees must complete orientation and department-level training including their WE RIPS training before any Season Passes or EP Lift Ticket Vouchers will be issued.

Employee Badge (aka Employee Season Pass) will require several waivers to be reviewed and signed by the Employee before being issued or renewed.

 Guidelines

  • Present Employee Badge (aka Employee Season Pass) for all discounts.
  • Discounts are unavailable for family, dependents, vendors, associates, or friends.
  • These programs are a privilege and not a right and can be revoked individually for abuse.

Food Discounts

  • All employees will receive a 70% discount at Lodge Pole Café & Winters Creek Lodge.
  • Discount does not apply to packaged beverage products (specialty bottles/cans)

Beverage Discounts

  • FREE Fountain soda products MVD II & Winters Creek Lodge. 
  • 70% off Soda Cans
  • Beer & Wine - $6 at Timbers or Sky Bar (Winters Creek Lodge)
  • Summit Club Members – receive 50% off any beverage in Timbers or Sky Bar.

Employees can purchase special event food & beverage products at the Premier pass holder price.

Parking Shovelers

  • FREE breakfast burrito after work is completed.
  • Receive a free breakfast burrito on snow removal days.
  • A coupon is required to receive the free breakfast burrito (See Dom)
  • Redeem Coupons at Lodge Pole Café or Winters Creek Lodge

Food Service & Janitorial Employees

Lift Privileges

All Mt. Rose Employees Receive FREE Skiing & Snowboarding Privileges

Employees may also choose between one guest pass --OR-- three single-day lift ticket vouchers, in addition to passes for their kids ages 26 and under (if applicable).

Complete the Employee Perk Selection form to designate your guest(s).
Each of your designated dependents must also complete the Season Pass Agreement form.

 

All employees are eligible for complimentary day tickets. Please see the matrix below to determine how many tickets you qualify for.

*Tickets must not be sold. Selling comp tickets will result in the immediate loss of all lift and skiing/snowboarding privileges as well as disciplinary action which may include termination of employment.*

If you have purchased a Season Pass prior employment at Mt. Rose, you may be eligible for a Season Pass Refund. Please see the form for more information.  

By accepting Ski Privileges, all employees agree to the following conditions:
  • NON TRANSFERABLE: Season Passes are not transferable, not to family members or friends—no exceptions. Use of a pass by any person other than the named owner/pass holder shall void the pass and result in the immediate loss of all lift and skiing/snowboarding privileges without compensation, and the Sheriff will be called to prosecute the person using your pass for fraud.
  • KNOW THE CODE: Familiarize yourself and your family with The Responsibility Code and abide by its contents.
  • DO NOT DUCK THE ROPE: Ski Patrol puts up boundary lines and designates closed areas for your safety. Skiing in a closed area will result in the loss of your pass for up to 3 years.
  • WEAR YOUR PASS: Your Season Pass gives you area access to both the slopes and lifts at Mt. Rose. Carry your Season Pass at all times at Mt. Rose and have it visible for quick inspection each lift ride, or when asked.
  • LOST PASS: Lost passes need to be reported to the Human Resources Office immediately.
  • FORGOT PASS: If you forget your pass, please see the Guest Services Offices at either lodge for a temporary day ticket.
  • THEFT: Theft of any kind, whether from the resort or another guest, will result in the banishment from the area for life. Season pass privileges for the employee/ volunteer and approved dependents will cease at the time of the employee or volunteer’s termination of employment. Any misuse of this employee privilege including, but not limited to, the sale of tickets or pass(es), may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment. Free skiing/ snowboarding is not covered by Workers’ Compensation. The Season Pass holder acknowledges under Washoe County Code section 50.245 a skier/snowboarder assumes the risk of any injury to person or property resulting from the inherent dangers and risks of skiing/snowboarding, which are reasonably obvious, expected, or necessary. “Inherent risks of skiing/snowboarding” include, but are not limited to, those dangers or conditions which are an integral part of the sport of skiing/snowboarding, whether natural, man-made or man modified, including, but not limited to, changing weather conditions, variation in the steepness of the terrain, snow or ice conditions, surface or sub-surface conditions, bare spots, creeks, gullies, forest growth or rocks, collision with other skiers/snowboarders and obstacles and a ticket holder’s failure to ski/snowboard within the value ticket holder’s own ability. This pass may be revoked at any time for the misconduct, or nuisance caused by the holder.

FREE GROUP LESSONS

Midweek Only - Non-Holiday

All employees are encouraged to participate in ski or snowboard group lessons free of charge. Please follow these guidelines: If you want to take a lesson, Check in with the Ski School Line-Up Supervisor prior to the Lesson Start Time (Typically 10:00 & 1:00) If you need rental gear, be sure to have that all taken care of before the lesson begins. Employee participation in lessons should not interfere with or delay normal operations. Lessons are offered midweek (non-holiday period) on a space-available basis.

Rentals & Repair

FREE Standard Rentals for all employees.

- All equipment will be rented on a DAILY BASIS only.
- Equipment rentals are offered MIDWEEK (non-holiday period).
- You must complete and sign a rental agreement form for all equipment at the ski school/rental desk.
- Employees are personally responsible for the equipment. Employees will be charged if the equipment is damaged, lost, or stolen.
